Who is the Workshop Intended For?

The course is intended to provide a balanced view of current issues and constraints in international IP management, and offers a mix of intensive interactions and in-depth discussions. The workshop is aimed at relatively senior research staff and managers who have job responsibilities containing policy components, strategy development involving IP issues, technology transfer and licensing. The goal is to provide a balanced mix of experiences to the group by aiming to have representation from International Research Centers, Private Sector Entities, National Research Systems, National and Multinational Companies, Bilateral and Multilateral Agencies, and Philanthropic Foundations.

What Is The Focus Of The Workshop?

The workshop will be action oriented, “hands on” and will not follow a conventional classroom style. Use will be made of working groups and case studies as a way of addressing major IP issues. Come prepared to work hard, and note that the schedule will NOT allow for absence from the working sessions. We are ending the workshop on the last day at lunchtime in order to allow participants to arrange other meetings in DC associated with their visit.
